to switch to software, alot of new hardware has come out recently that has kept some companys from bowing down to soft companys like apple and propellerhead. Now Korg on the other hand has a really good habit of making artistic and inexpensive quality items. need some proof? microkorg, kaoss pad, padKontrol, the nano series of controllers,
AND NOW…(drum roll, sampled of course).
microSAMPLER ohhh. ahhhh

first the cons/what its not
1. not very cool looking. don’t they remember from microkorg sales that we like sportin wood! even if it is stained plywood they know there retro style works. so why the plastic. I do dig the dials and buttons.
2. not as inexpensive as I hoped. $500.00 ain’t that bad for a sampler worstation (mpc 500 is $560) but i prob will sit out a bit.
Pros/what it is
1. A compact sampler that works off AA batteries.
2. has a line in that you can hook up your iphone, DS, PSP, and anything else the kids want today.
3. has a tap tempo with the ability to sync and chop samples on the fly, which is a must nowadays .
4. built in mike is fine for what it is. remember you cant take a condenser mic on stage and expect it to record anyway its too sensitive.
5. its a Korg micro/nano thing, and again those are all been proven to be great and inspiring and cheap.
heres something i did on my microkorg . Just some acoustic drum samples an a guitar lick, the rest was all the microkorg.
if your even half interested you can do yourself a financial favor and watch the youtube video. Either “deep black guy voice” and his safe slang, or homeboy who’s doing the demos’ lack of a much needed bro/bra, should be enough to make you save your money. However if you ignore those and the nonchalant pokes at “pad samplers” (my current setup has 56 pads! thank you Akai). You will see that this has all the essentials needed. I want one.

that joint is ill, might look into one dead up before the coke inspired raps i was the guy who sampled panzer dragon with from the sega saturn
